Soprano's final episode..............

Moms View Message Board: Books, Movies and TV Shows: Soprano's final episode..............
By Dana on Monday, June 11, 2007 - 04:34 pm:

Did anyone feel like their TV just died at an important moment? I was so mad to see things go blank and start up again when credits started rolling. This morning I did HBO on demand to FF to end of show. It was meant to be like that.

I didn't like that ending. I would have been much happier just watching them eat dinner with nothing extraordinary happening. That black out was just frustrating.

We don't even have HBO at the moment..........because Cox took HBO out of the lineup unless you get digital cable, which we just haven't gotten around to doing. But my friend said the same thing - she thought the cable had gone out. LOL

LOL... I thought the same thing!!! And when I realized what was happening, an enourmous tirade of obscenities came spontaneously flowing out of me (boy, am I glad it was late and DD was in a deep sleep!) My DH, who is the one with the short temper, was actually very calm when he declared "David Chase s*cks and I feel like I just wasted nine years!" I was not that calm!

Thinking about it now, you can read it a few ways, I guess. 1) As Bobby said in the previous episode, "I think when you get it, you don't hear anything. Everything just goes black." and the whole family got it... OR 2) He wanted to make the audience feel like they had just been whacked! (I can't believe I just used that word LOL) OR... 3) they intentionally wanted to leave you guessing so they can dangle a movie in a couple of years, as they have been doing with Sex in the City!!!

Either way... I HATED it!!!!

Did I mention I HATED IT!!!

I hated it, too! I felt let down. I looked at the screen and said "What?!" plus a few other choice words LOL

The best season finale I have watched was the one from Six Feet Under. They told you how their lives ended up and how and when they died.

I guess we will have to wait for the Soprano's movie!

OMG.. Annie, I soooo agree!!! I LOVED LOVED the finale of Six Feet Under! I watched it a couple of times and cried each time! It was great! They should all be so good!

Ditto Six Feet Under. I love that show so much, I have the entire series on DVD

Yep, it s*cked. lol Dh and I were so hyped up for it. We thought our replay had messed it up, so we backed it up a minute or so and played it again. Nope, that was it. I've read reviews by people that loved it. We thought it was the worst episode of the whole series.

I have never watched "The Sopranos" (I live in Rhode Island where we have our own real life mobsters, LOL), but I felt really let down by the ending of "Carnivale" on HBO a few years ago. There was all this suspense, and then no explanations for anything at the end. I felt so betrayed after all the weeks of watching.

I, too, LOVED the ending of "Six Feet Under". It was very well done.

Well........Jeff hooked up our new TV and the DVR and cables and all that garbage that us *old folks* just don't understand, and we watched the 1st two episodes of the final season On Demand last night!!! Woo Hoo! I'll get to watch them all now.

By Karen~admin on Sunday, June 24, 2007 - 10:25 am:

We watched the entire season this past week, and yes, the final episode was a total disappointment. :-(
