Now Jehovah Witness Pedophilia

Moms View Message Board: The Kitchen Table (Debating Board): Now Jehovah Witness Pedophilia
By Terri0930 on Wednesday, May 29, 2002 - 07:59 am:

Last night I watched Dateline and was shocked that the same thing happens in this Church. Actually I'am shocked all the time that I hear that this happens and people get away with it. How can so many of people turn their backs on children like this? How can other people let them be around chilren knowing that they have molested children? I will never understand this in a million of years. I will never understand the cover ups of molestation and rape in or under any circumstances. Can anyone make sense out of this?

It's not just Catholic priest, it's not just Jehovah's Witnesses - it happens in *every* church, *every* organization, *every* neighborhood. Pedophiles are naturally drawn to professions and organizations in which they can have contact with the age of child to whom they are attracted. If people think the Catholic Church has been neglectful of this issue, they need to look in their own backyards, because it is happening *everywhere* - the focus just shifts.

I have since realized it happens in everyones backyards I just dont know why. I will never understand it, I guess.

I truly hate having to explain...no, *try* to explain to my children why some people are so evil. I don't want them to walk around looking over their shoulders, not trusting. A healthy balance of fear and good sense is a challenge to maintain, but I suppose it's something we constantly strive to achieve.

in 92 i went thru a situation that i wont go into details about but dealt with molestation... while in counseling sessions i learned alot ... that if this was actually a disease that killed a person specially children that one 4 girls would die and one in 10 boys would ....but since it was just molestaion and not deadly it was swept under the rug... irregardless of creed color ethnic culture sex or religion many would be dead ..the gov chooses not to step up in protectin our kids to help the parents ofthe people who harm our kids the perpatrator has more laws protectin him/her than they child now tell me what is fair...this has touched my life in many directions... ive held many a crying females of all ages that this issue has hurt ... when will the people take care of the kids' well being and put them first ... when they learn that what u do to a child influences thier behavior and morals and values and standards of life ...the EXAMPLE u set for the child is what they learn by ... sorry i may not be sayin this the right way or in the right tone just touches base to close

Jewlz, I agree, and know what? i recently learned that my husband had inappropriately touched my 13 year old, twice, after we moved here. DCF already knew about the extreme inappropriate talk to her by him in front of the other kids. They did an investiigation and the sexual content wa closed with NO FINDINGS. know how they investigated? As soon as I found out I told, and he said I was being retalitory. My daughter had to tell several people about it and was totally humiliated. My husband was questioned and denied everytihing. CASE CLOSED. A 35 y/o head case who abuses his family, proven, but they take his word over a 13 y/o girl? I have no doubt in my mind it happened. It was something his Mother used to do to him! I am SO disgusted with DCF here. Shame on them, they should have taken her word just in case!!!!!

I would be more than willing to share my experience with what happened with me (fromt he time I told someone to the "end"). I am pretty open about it, so much that I think I scare people that Im so open. So since i dont want to freak anyone out that Im so open about it, I will leave the offer here. It would probably get pretty long too LOL.
