Have you all seen the statue of Britney Spears giving birth? "She" is down on her elbows and knees on a bearskin rug. (Nevermind she had a C-section, this is art .)
Monument to Pro-Life: The Birth of Sean Preston
As the title says, it is billed as a "monument to pro-life". What do you think? I'm not sure what I think. I find myself kinda shaking my head at the whole thing. :)

I'm shaking my head too. I'm just *SO* sick of Britney Spears right about now.....IMO, she has become so trashy and makes such stupid choices, anything that I hear, see or read about her just makes me want to gag anymore........

By Kernkate on Wednesday, March 29, 2006 - 01:14 pm:

Shaking my head also. IMO I think its totally ridiculous.

By Crystal915 on Wednesday, March 29, 2006 - 01:41 pm:

I hardly consider the birth of Kevin Federline's child a monument to pro-life. I would call it a monument to birth control. I do think this is pretty ridiculous, but it's gotten tons of attention, so probably a good move by the artist.

LOL Crystal!

By Karen~moderator on Wednesday, March 29, 2006 - 02:14 pm:

ROFL Crystal! I agree!

By Reds9298 on Wednesday, March 29, 2006 - 02:32 pm:

I'm just shaking my head, too. It's a stupid statue, but from what I've read this was not commissioned by her or anything. Just something that the artist was into, so it's not her fault. I read a quote where the artist did it because he "really admires Britney", which is just silly to me. She's talentless and is slowing becoming more and more like trailer trash. The whole thing is just absurd.

By Kiki on Wednesday, March 29, 2006 - 02:43 pm:

lol crystal!

By Sunny on Wednesday, March 29, 2006 - 02:50 pm:

LOl Crystal! One of the columnists in the local paper said it looked more like a position one gets into to become pregnant, not give birth. :)

By Cocoabutter on Wednesday, March 29, 2006 - 02:59 pm:

Nothing shocks me anymore.... :(

By Crystal915 on Wednesday, March 29, 2006 - 04:14 pm:

I actually went and read the article on Yahoo!, something I hadn't previously done since the blog world has been abuzz about this for a couple days now. I had no idea the other end of the statue actually shows the baby CROWNING. Um, EWWW. And how are you going to have a pro-life statue with a bear head rug?! Pro-life, but not a member of PETA, obviously.

By Sunny on Wednesday, March 29, 2006 - 04:37 pm:

I was wondering about that, Crystal! I wonder how long it will take for the pictures to get on the internet (unless they are already). Although, I really have no desire to see it! LOL

I almost feel sorry for Britney. :)

By Dawnk777 on Wednesday, March 29, 2006 - 04:43 pm:

Ugh. That's stupid, if she really had a c-section. Sheesh!

By Crystal915 on Wednesday, March 29, 2006 - 05:17 pm:

She did have a c-section... that's the funniest part about it!!

By Luvn29 on Wednesday, March 29, 2006 - 06:40 pm:

Not to mention there's no way her b**bs would be hanging like that! I'm pretty sure they are permanently perky if you know what I mean! LOL! This statue is a joke. Every way you look at it.

I don't understand why her being naked in that position promotes anything besides a comfortable way for a pregnant woman to have sex with her partner.

On a side note: being in that position for people to see can be very humiliating. When I was in the last part of labor with my third child, the "doctor" (using the term lighlty) thought the baby was in distress. I was whisked of my johnny and made to go on all four, naked, being wheeled into the OR. It's something my dh and I will never forget!

Long story made short, we had a problem with the inserted baby monitor, dh adamently told everyone to stop and to get our head doctor to make the final call. (Military hospital). It was determined the monitor wasn't working. I was covered up and wheeled back to my room where I delivered a healthy pink baby. :)

Why this pose of BS was chosen, I have no idea. Great cause though.

I think it is ridiculous. But so is she.
