WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Newsweek magazine backed away Sunday from a report that U.S. interrogators desecrated copies of the Quran while questioning prisoners at the Guantanamo Bay naval base -- an account blamed for sparking violent riots in Afghanistan and elsewhere.

At least 15 people were killed and dozens injured last week when thousands of demonstrators marched in Afghanistan and other parts of the Muslim world, officials and eyewitnesses said.

After 9/11 we heard how the religion of Islam is a religion of PEACE. Furthermore, we heard that the terrorists who hijacked the planes as well as the Taliban and alQuaida were in fact desecrating the Islam religion by distorting the meaning of the Koran and using it to justify their actions against Western civilization. However NOT ONE SOUL in the Islam religion took a stand against the actions of the 9/11 terrorists and condemned them-- to do so would to violate their religious principles of PEACE.

But all of a sudden when the story came out of the (false) allegations of Americans desecrating the Islamic holy book, the Muslims rise up in violence, riots, and death in the streets?

WHERE WAS THIS OUTRAGE AT the 9/11 HIJACKERS?????
