My mom's best friend called me today around noon to tell me my mom's in the hospital. She was having chest pains. They don't think it's her heart. They thought maybe a blood clot in the lungs because she just had surgery Monday (something in her back). The CT scan didn't show anything, though. They're keeping her over night and doing a stress test tomorrow. I talked to her this afternoon and she sounded tired and in pain. She said it still hurts, but not really bad unless she tries to take a deep breath. She's not been really healthy for years now. She gets by, but she's got high blood pressure, high cholorestol (sp), RA, and other little things here and there. She finally was able to retire last month. Please say a prayer they figure this out quickly. It's hard for me being so far away.

Thanx for the prayers. My brother called a little while ago. He said the stress test was normal and that the doctor thinks this was all caused by her RA and the fact that she's been off her meds because of the surgery she had this week. He's got her back on her meds, plus something else to help it settle down. I'm going to give her time to get home and then call her. Thanx again for the prayers.

Cat, steroids affect different people in different ways so she could very well be tired from them, or just the after-effects of her previous surgery and/or everything she's just been through.
