There were two church related shootings here in Colorado yesterday. One in Arvada (near Denver) at a missionary training center where two were killed (ages 24 and 26) and one here in the Springs at New Life Church. Five were shot and two teenage sisters died. Their dad is still in the hospital and the other two were treated and released. The gunman was shot and killed by a church security guard. These girls were 16 and 18 years old! From what I read they were in their van leaving and the guy just opened fire into the van. I didn't know them but this just makes me SO angry! WHY??? Denver and Colorado Springs are working together to see if these are related but they haven't released any information yet (they happened about 12 hours apart). Lots of prayers needed here. For all the victims families and friends and especially for New Life Church. It was only a year ago they let Ted Haggard go and they've become stronger since then, but they're really going to need prayers for this. I'm sure some of the teens from our church knew these girls. We aren't that far from them and I know our pastor works with their teen pastor occasionally. This just isn't right.
