Is it just my house.....

Moms View Message Board: Get Organized: Is it just my house.....
By Ladypeacek on Monday, April 26, 2004 - 10:57 am:

Having small kids i have to arrange things in my house sometimes in ways that seem unattractive just to keep from steadily keeping kids out of them! I long for the days when i don't have to worry where i put things. I have so many things that i HATE where they are and how they are arranged, LOl!

I feel like I have wall to wall furniture because the way I have to have it arranged. My SIL says that I am not teaching him how to stay out of things if I put it all up. I just think safety is important! For the longest time I didn't have a coffee table & am considering getting rid of the one I now have. Joseph thinks it fun to jump from the table to the sofa.

I have never had a coffee table. My mom has some cool pottery she has bought on various trips she has taken. She finally put it all away when the kids were little (for a while) because it was just easier for all concerned. Yeah, it's important for them to learn to not touch things, but it's also a hassle to keep on top of them so they don't wreck them, too. All the grandkids are past that stage, though, so that is good.

I think we are nearly past that stage now! 6 years is a long time without any decor below 3 feet. My youngest is almost 3 and hasn't touched the "pretties" that she's not allowed to touch in a long time.(very obedient, I wonder how long that will last?:)) I am thinking about bringing things back down, one at at time. I was just contemplating this today! LOL

On the upside, think of all the things you don't have to dust, because you can't put them out ...
