I'm BA-ACK!

Moms View Message Board: Let's Get Fit! (Weight Loss Support Group): I'm BA-ACK!
By Cat on Thursday, December 13, 2007 - 10:08 am:

I NEED to come back here! Man, the number on my scale is scary. :( I'd done so well and this past year I've totally fallen off the wagon and run the other way! lol I'm in shape and have a lot of muscle, but there's way too much of me. *g* I'd like to loose about 25lbs at this point. Gosh, I was down to just 5-10 to go at one point! You wouldn't know it to look at me, but I weighed 159.5 this morning. :( I still wear a size 10, so I carry it well, but I'd still love to be down in the 130's. SO, I need some will power and I need a plan. I can't just wing it. I'm not very good at that. The kids and I are still going to karate 2-3 times a week. I don't really want to join Curves again, but I need to do something. We have a Bowflex downstairs, I have an exercise ball (that I need to inflate!), we have a boxing/punching bag (one of those on a stand) and I've got some videos/DVD's of different things. I need an eating plan (or lack of eating! lol). I looked at WW online and it's $65 for the first 3 months and then $17 every month after. I don't want to pay that (neither would dh!). I know low carb works, but I hate the side effects of being witchy and tired.

So you all can be my motivators and butt-kickers! lol Tell me to put that candy bar down! Tell me to choose popcorn or grapes or something over chips and cheese or ice cream! HELP!!! I feel like I'm starting to get out of control and I don't like it. I try buying healthy foods, but dh is going grocery shopping with me now and buys so much junk! I try to tell him take it to work (because the kids will eat it, too if he doesn't) but stuff still gets left here at home. Maybe I need to do a clean sweep of the kitchen and MAKE him take it to work (or at least put it in his car!).

Please take me back. *g* Hi, my name is Cathy and I'm an overeater. Maybe I just need duct tape. lol

Welcome back, Cat!

Well, I have to get back on the wagon too! I haven't been able to exercise since August, hurt my foot. Unfortunately, I have still been eating like I am exercising! I got on the scale this morning, and now need to loose at least 10 lbs! I have started exercising, pilates, 3 days a week. I can not do any cardio that puts weight on my foot. I am planning to add on to dh's gym membership at the first of the year because I can do the eliptical machine. I am trying now to just put down the ice cream and christmas cookies.

Hi Cat! Have you looked at the weight watchers guides on eBay? I recently purchased one because I don't have the time to join the program, and don't want to spend that kind of money, but I wanted the points system. Something to think about!! I've got about 15 lbs to go, so I'm right there with you!!!

Debbie, I hope that foot heals alright! It's kind of important! lol

Crystal, what did you get on eBay? There's so much there! I'm looking at one that's the 2008 starter books that's not too terribly priced. Maybe I'll try that one. It's got the Complete Food Companion with the points for over 18,000 foods. That should work! lol Have you been using the points system for long and lost any weight yet? I've heard great things about WW.

I've done well today with eating. I made oatmeal for breakfast and put peaches in it. Another hour until lunch and I've got a couple frozen meals that are light. I guess I'm just used to snacking throughout the day. Mornings aren't too hard. It's the afternoons and evenings that kill me!

I got the 2007 starter guide, and a the companion set. Here's the listing... I never even thought about the 2008 guide, I figure food doesn't change much in a year. I haven't gotten my set, due to a shipping issue the seller contacted me about, so I haven't started the program. We can start together!!

I looked at some listings by that seller, but avoided buying from them because of their feedback. It looked like a lot of people had shipping issues with them. Here's the one I bought. Hopefully it'll come soon and we can start together!

I did really well yesterday until dinner. We got home from karate at 7:15 and Randy had a guitar lesson at 7:30 so I scarfed down some KFC. :( It was good, but I know it was a bit much. Oh well. Today's a new day. :)

When you have a large scale seller, 99.4% is not bad at all. Still, you got a good deal!!! Oddly enough, I had KFC last night as well, I REALLY wanted what I call the "fat kid bowl", but opted for a BLT salad, and potato wedges (my "treat"). Just over 200 cals for the salad, and 260 for the wedges, but I only ate a few.

By Cat on Friday, December 14, 2007 - 01:19 pm:

I agree that 99.4% is great for how many sales they've had. It wasn't so much the negative feedback though, because even the positive feedback said shipping was slow. We've had some problems with other eBay sellers and slow shipping (or not at all). It seems we're always in that 1/2% that never gets our stuff. :( So I decided to go with someone else. You got a great deal, too! I didn't have a salad last night. I had the whole shabang. Chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy, cold slaw and a biscuit. Dh had gotten a bucket meal while the kids and I were at karate because we knew we'd be pressed for time. Oh well. At least it was yummy!
