Adhesions

Moms View Message Board: Parenting Discussion: Adhesions
By Latonya on Friday, February 17, 2006 - 12:11 pm:

Christopher was circumcised when he was 6 weeks old but every since then he has had problems with adhesions. That is where the little extra skin for growing room adheres to the head of his penis. It doesn't cover the whole thing but it does cause him some trouble. We have had it fixed several times but it keeps coming back no matter what I do. I keep it pulled back and I clean it with every diaper change and every bath but it keeps happening. Well this time the doctor decided that it is best to put him to sleep to do it to lessen the trauma he would suffer. It is a very quick procedure but also very painful. He has one little tiny spot that isn't stuck as bad as the rest and lint from his diaper or urine or things like that get in there and it is very hard to clean that tiny spot and it gets infected and it hurts him so much. I hate that he has to go through this to fix it but it is the best thing. He goes in next Friday morning to be put to sleep and have this done. I can't hardly stand knowing what they are going to do. Please say a pray for him. I will up date everyone after it is done.

Awww...poor guy! I know you will worry like crazy. I will say a prayer for him!! I've had friends have the same problem with their 1 year old...worried sick, but he came out ok!

Thoughts and prayers! Helen had adhesions - not the same of course - but once she was unstuck, the doc had me put aquaphor or A&D on her at every diaper change to keep the skin from growing back together. She's been fine.

Awww, poor Christopher. Sarah had tubes put in her ears, at one year old. She had to be put to sleep, too. It was over and done with quickly, though. It's hard to send your child to surgery.

Will keep him in my prayers.

Pooor guy!!! My brother had this problem, they didn't remove all of the foreskin, and he had to have it redone at age 3. I know it's difficult, and guilt-inducing, but he'll be ok!! (((((((Christoper and mommy)))))))

Sorry it took so long to post and let you guys know how he is doing but my computer at home is down. Anyway, he came through it like a champ. About an hour after the surgery you would have never known anything happened to him. He came home and ate and played and he just did great. The only time it seems to bother him is when I change his diaper and put medicine. It takes me and dh to hold him. But he is healing fast.

I've been thinking of him. Thanks so much for letting us know how he is doing. I am so happy that he did well. We sure do worry about our babies, don't we! I'm sure you are so relieved!

By Kernkate on Tuesday, February 28, 2006 - 11:41 am:

Glad all went well.

Thread spammed

By Latonya on Monday, July 31, 2006 - 08:34 am:

Why was this spammed?? Is something wrong with the message??

By Ginny~moderator on Monday, July 31, 2006 - 11:18 am:

Latonya, Spam is advertising. When a spambot (a computer program sending spam) attempts to put an ad on the Momsview site, it comes up as "Authentication Error", because the spambot (or real live spammer) is not registered and does not have a username or password. So the ad doesn't get into the thread, but the Authentication Error does. The moderators remove these spam (Authentication Error) posts when we see them, and will often (but not always) alert members to the fact that the thread was spammed so the members will realize it is probably an older thread, revived from the archives by the spambot.

That this particular thread happens to be about your son and is really not very old is purely and absolutely coincidence. The spambots use some kind of computer logic (or non-logic) when selecting which threads to spam, and this time it happened to be the thread you started.

I assure you, there was nothing wrong with the thread except that it had been hit by a spambot.
