Twins getting out of toddler beds

Moms View Message Board: Parenting Discussion: Twins getting out of toddler beds
By Bellajoe on Sunday, January 8, 2006 - 04:08 pm:

This question is for my sister.
Her twins just turned two and learned how to climb out of the cribs. So she recently put them in their toddler beds. Now they keep getting out of bed. Does anyone have any suggestions of how to get them to stay put?

thanks!

We don't even try. We cleared the room of almost everything, super baby proofed it and put a gate on the doorway. Matthew goes back to bed on his own when he's ready. Maybe not the best solution but it works for us.

Good luck to your sister.

I don't know. My kids didn't really crawl out of bed that much! Mine were both in a bed or toddler bed, by the time they turned two.

Ditto the "other" Cori. :) We just cleared everything out and let them fall asleep on the floor for a few nights. I never found anything that worked better for us.

My kids are on twin mattresses on the floor. I'll often find both in one bed, or both on the floor, or upside down on the bed, etc. They had toys in there for a while, but now there are just a few toys, and books. If we hear them up after lights out, we go up, reprimand, and sometimes take away priviledges, but they've pretty much gotten the message.
