Ds doesn't want to wear diaper....

Moms View Message Board: Parenting Discussion: Ds doesn't want to wear diaper....

He is home sick today from preschool.

Oh my goodness. Glad he doesn't do this in preschool.

I think he is too little for potty training.

He will be three in 3 months.

I don't think that is to young.

I didn't know you had a little one (is this number 3?). Honestly 2 of my 3 kids were completely potty trained by age 3. It may be worth looking into. If he is removing dirty diapers, then it is a big sign. If he is ready it only take a couple of days to get through.

I don't know. Now I kind of smell something. I think he peed somewhere and I can't find it....

I pulled the potty chairs out and let him run around without a diaper for a while. He said he wanted a potty not a diaper.

Hi Feona,
My friend Lorraine swore by the run around no diaper potty available method. It did help. Go with his potty no diaper independence!!!

Thanks! The nursery school sent home potty dvd for everyone! hint hint! They must be saying!
I know he will be potty trained by 3.5 years. John was potty trained by then.

Hi again,

He's probably hearing potty celebration at school. Some schools celebrate when the kids go to the potty. Peer pressure is real even at 2. It sounds like its working. We used to read potty books. They actually used to enjoy the various potty books and request them.

I did the no diaper method as well ! It worked with all of my kids, I remember saying at the time, if I put a pull up or training pants on my child, it was "license to pee" .... so we went all day long naked. Hubby didn't think it was such a great idea, but oh well, they all got potty trained didn't they ?

I remember my friend having trouble with her (now 15yr old) daughter. At this stage, she refused to have anything to do with the potty. For Christmas she received Day of the Week panties, she wanted to wear them so badly that she started using the potty.

I guess we all have our motivators !

Oh yes, speaking of that, I used gumballs, everytime ANYONE IN THE HOUSE went to the bathroom he/she got a gumball, no gum unless you went potty. It helped too ! Just imagine, your 6'1" hubby being told to have a gumball for going pee-pee in the potty ! hahahaha ! It worked !
