Picking up my DD at school on Friday, all the kids were filing out with kites they had made! I see my DD's class coming, and everyone is carrying a kite, except for Sue!!! So, I'm totally prepared for the whole "she wouldn't do it", "she broke it", and the tears!

The teacher brings her down and said "Well, we all made kites today!" (gulp) "and Susanna did hers! The principal went to each class and had to chose the best from each grade level and he chose Susanna's as the best in the school's kindergarten classes! So, he took it and it will be on display and entered into a citywide contest! You'll be getting a letter in the mail and tickets to go see the kite and the judging!"

And I look down at my DD and she is standing there with the BIGGEST grin on her face you have ever seen!

So proud!!! This transitional kindergarten class has really done a lot for her! I guess I don't give her enough credit sometimes!

Keep your fingers crossed for her kite!

That's wonderful!! I love it when the news is good. I got a message from ds's English teacher a few weeks ago to give her a call.(He's a freshman in high school and really struggles with school.) Of course I assumed it was something bad, but she just wanted to tell me that his attitude had improved and he was doing really well!

My fingers will be crossed for you!! How cool would it be to win a citywide contest?!

This reminds me of when I received a phone call from the school principal earlier this year. He said, "Mrs. G, I have Tyler here in my office with me..." I immediately assumed he was in trouble, but it was GOOD news! WHY do we do that?! LOL!
