This is in response to your reply on my "fat baby" post. I was afraid you wouldn't check it again.

I have had lots of problems with doctors with Luke also. When he was two months old, he was spitting up/vomiting everything he ate. Long story short, he was in and out of the doctor's office and the ER for dehydration. Then the hospital decided he had pyloric stenosis, which basically means his stomach wasn't allowing the food through, causing him to vomit it up. We were in the hospital for four days. They wouldn't let him eat for twelve hours (a baby... imagine how terrible) and send us down to surgery, only to decide he didn't need the surgery after all. This happened THREE times.
We left the hospital with no results, they just said he had a virus.

Fast forward to a few weeks ago, we take him to the doctor for a standard visit, and the doctor hears acid in his chest while listening to his heartbeat. He had acid reflux the whole time!! She gave us Zantac and he is a brand new baby. But when I suggested that before, the doctors gave me this "We know what we're doing attitude.... Grrrrr!"

BTW, I know that dr's know more than I do, obviously. But when it comes to my baby, who I am around 24/7, I wish they would just LISTEN!!!!

Hi Jen!
I know...it's the best when you can find a doctor that actually takes your opinions into consideration, especially when there is so much information out there.
When Connor was in and out of the hospital, I just kept thinking "You know, there is obviously something wrong and it can't possibly be pneumonia all the time." Sure enough, it was allergies and I was lucky to have a doctor get frustrated with the problem like we were.

What's worse is when the nurses butt in and say their opinions as a parent and not as a nurse. I had one even tell me "What has the world come to when parents bring in DVD players in the hospital." Uh...I was prepared for another ER visit and the last time we were there for 6+ hours, all the while Connor could hardly breathe. And, Scott was deployed, so I was already haggard to begin with. Connor doesn't feel like playing, so what can he do while waiting in the same room hours at a time? Drives me nuts...makes me want to become a doctor or nurse myself.

PS- By the way...On the other post, I didn't swear (regarding the red dots). I put in various characters, like in comics, resembling a cuss word and apparently it was transferred into what looks like something worse! LOL

Umm... I wish I had thought of bringing the DVD player, it would have entertained Christopher while I took care of the baby! I think that's just plain smart!

And LOL at the "swearing". I was wondering what you had said!!
