Scott got his grades!!!

Moms View Message Board: Parenting Discussion: Scott got his grades!!!
By Ginny~moderator on Saturday, December 22, 2007 - 04:34 pm:

Another 4.0 - that makes 3 semesters with a 4.0 average!!!

I am so proud.

And right now he is so sick. He has some sort of infection that is clogging up his lungs, and I am waiting for him to decide whether he will wait until he can get a doctor's appointment - which won't be before Thursday or Friday of next week - or decide he is sick enough to go to the ER.

By Dawnk777 on Saturday, December 22, 2007 - 06:03 pm:

Wow! Congrats to him! The last time I had something clogging up my lungs, it hurt to take the slightest breath, so I would have been tempted to go to the ER, if the walk-in hadn't still been open.

By Tink on Saturday, December 22, 2007 - 08:22 pm:

Congrats, Scott! Get well soon!

Ginny, you sound so proud of him and rightly so! I hope he's feeling better soon, whether it requires a trip to the ER or not.

By Debbie on Saturday, December 22, 2007 - 10:44 pm:

Congrats! You have every reason to be proud!

I hope he is feeling better soon. It would stink to feel that bad for all of the christmas holiday. I vote for the ER!

Thanks, ladies. Scott says if he can't get squeezed in at the doctor's office Monday (always assuming they are open Monday and I would not be surprised if they are not), he will go to the ER. The point that persuaded him is that he may well be contagious and should not be around his niece (my beautiful granddaughter) if he is coughing. Since he is infatuated with her, that convinced him.

By Nicki on Sunday, December 23, 2007 - 04:33 pm:

He's really done well in school!

I'm sorry Scott is feeling so ill. I hope he's able to get in on Monday. I think it's so sweet how fond he is of your granddaughter! Hopefully he'll be feeling better soon.

Wonder of wonders, Scott got an appointment with our doctor for 10:00 a.m. today! Poor guy, he's been up and down since Thursday, waking up with congested lungs one morning and less congested the next, and with a terribly congested head yesterday but lungs better - and this morning both head and lungs congested. What worries me is he had similar symptoms about 18 months ago, put off going to the doctor, and wound up really, really sick with a diagnoses of bacterial pneumonia, and was out of work for a week. So I'm glad he is getting to see the doc before he gets that sick again, and that he could get an appointment instead of having to go to the ER. One thing I am concerned about is spending tomorrow with my granddaughter, and Scott will definitely ask the doc about how infectious he may be. At any rate, we should all know by Noon what is going on.

He's been feeling so lousy, he hasn't really gloated about his grades. He was surprised, though, because he was sure he wouldn't get an A in Chemistry.

The problem with having a baby is that once you become a parent, you're stuck! In my pre-childbirth musings, I never, ever thought I'd be worrying about the health of my very adult children - or nagging them (not just Scott) to see a doctor. Ah well, too late to change my mind now.

Once a parent, always a parent! LOL!

By Bobbie~moderatr on Monday, December 24, 2007 - 02:50 pm:

So true Dawn.. Hope Scott gets to feeling better and ^5 on the grades, way to go.

By Ginny~moderator on Monday, December 24, 2007 - 03:39 pm:

ARRRGGGGHHHH!!! The antibiotic has Scott vomiting. The doc says wait 4 hours, take a half dose, and see what happens. I'm supposed to usher at church tonight, and have called out on that. I've located a 24/7 pharmacy in reasonable driving distance. I've made alternative arrangements to get the gifts and the desserts and rolls we promised for Christmas dinner delivered to my dil&son, if necessary, because if Scott is still sick tomorrow I am NOT going to leave him home alone for several hours, and be an hour's driving away.

Poor baby - he is physically miserable and emotionally miserable, feeling guilty about the possibility of "spoiling everyone's Christmas".

By Dawnk777 on Monday, December 24, 2007 - 08:35 pm:

Poor guy. It's no fun being sick, at any time, but it seems worse, over Christmas.

By Crystal915 on Monday, December 24, 2007 - 11:18 pm:

I saw the other post, I hope he's feeling better soon!!!

By Mrsheidi on Sunday, January 6, 2008 - 06:13 pm:

Ginny, how is he now?
And, wow, a 4.0?? :) Yeah!!

By Ginny~moderator on Sunday, January 6, 2008 - 07:22 pm:

He's just fine, Heidi. thanks for asking.

By Dandjmom on Monday, January 7, 2008 - 07:53 am:

Congrats on the grades, sure you've mentioned before but I'm slow, what is his major?

Hope he is feeling better, Lets not talk about antibiotics, finished with mines yesterday and thank you. The side effects where worsier then the kidney infection. Hope he is feeling better soon.
