Hand made paper

Have you ever heard of this?

I saw this on the Carol Duvall show. Can you buy it, do you make it (stupid question, I know)? But this woman made the most beautiful cards out of this... It was not difficult, but it's the effect that water colors have on this paper that made it so beautiful.

Curious if anyone knows about handmade paper.

Ebay sells a ton of handmade papers much cheaper than craft stores but you can buy in some craft stores.
I have made my own before. It is a fairly easy fun project.
A friend gave me a kit that had a fixitive in it. I found it helps to have that although I did make some without it. I made a cool paper by just adding shredded paper scraps to the blender and adding grass. It turned the paper green and had a neat texture. I had a picture frame with screening in it that I dumped the pulp into and then I added pieces of a red carnation to it. When it dried I tore pieces for a Christmas project.

I bought some thin hand-made paper at Michaels and it was so expensive - five sheets for almost $6! I'm going to check out Ebay when I need more.

I'm using it to make votive candle holders. I am pressing flowers right now and when they are done in a week or so I will glue them to clear glass votive holders and then glue the thin hand-made paper over the flowers. The texture in the thin hand-made paper should add a nice touch because it will show when the light shines through when the candle is lit.

I saw a while ago, someone used all the JUNK mail paper to make handmade paper. I can not remember what she did exactly, but I know it is not hard. She cut it all up and put it into a blender with some type of product and then she drained it out on a handmade screen type thing. I will look thru my old files and see if I still have the directions.

Good luck!
