Moms View Message Board: Parenting Children with Special Needs: Mommy brag
By Kaye on Tuesday, May 15, 2007 - 08:41 pm:

After my big long fight with the school, pulling him out of special ed math and new teachers, ugly meetings. The whole thing the principal and the old teachers were stressed about was TAKS...this is our standardized testing. Well Andrew's results are in, he scored perfect on the Math (with no modifications) and commended on the reading with the grade level shorter test. I am just thrilled. It isn't that I didn't know he could, and didn't really doubt he would, but it is so nice to have something to take to his old teachers and say, see it wasn't him, it was you (i wouldn't do that, but will think it!)

That is so cool, Kaye! I love it when our kids throw the schools a curveball that makes them look good. Seth has been all over the map this school year but blew them away by taking the state tests unmodified and having all superior scores. ^5 to Andrew and {{{hugs}}} to you!

That is wonderful!!! Feels good to have confirmation that you do know your own child, doesn't it?
