CHINESE BEAN SALAD

1 - 16 oz. can diagonal cut green beans, drained
1 - 16 oz. can diagonal cut wax beans, drained
1 - 5 oz. can sliced water chestnuts, drained
1 - 5 oz. can sliced bamboo shoots, drained
1/2 c. red onion, sliced thin
1/3 c. sugar
1/3 c. vinegar
2 T. salad oil
2 T. soy sauce
2 T. cream sherry
1/2 tsp. celery salt
1/2 tsp. fresh ground pepper


Combine beans, water chestnuts, bamboo shoots and onion slices in a large bowl. In a pint jar or container with a tight fitting lid, dissolve sugar in vinegar. Add remaining ingredients; cover and shake. Pour over salad; cover and refrigerate overnight.
