Chicken and Ham Supreme

CHICKEN AND HAM SUPREME

3 whole chicken breasts, skinned, boned and halved
2 T. butter or margarine
1 c. chopped onions
1/4 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. black pepper
1/2 c. sherry
2 c. milk
1 1/2 c. water
6 chicken bouillon cubes
1 lb. thin spaghetti cooked 8 min. and drained
6 slices swiss cheese
6 slices boiled ham


In a dutch oven in butter or margarine over medium heat, brown chicken a few pieces at a time about 15 minutes or until tender. Remove and drain on paper towels. Add onions to pot. Cook 5 minutes. Mix corn starch, sherry, salt and pepper, milk and water. Stir until smooth. Add to pot. Add bouillon cubes. Stir until thickened and smooth. Grease 3 qt. shallow pan or casserole. Toss spaghetti in 1/2 of sauce. Cover bottom of pan with spaghetti. Layer chicken, then ham slices then cheese slices. Cover with remaining sauce. Bake tightly covered at 325 degrees F. for 45 to 60 minutes. Makes 6 servings. May be doubled to feed twelve.
