Does anyone have any Kielbasa Recipes?

Moms View Message Board: Cooking and Recipe Discussion: Discuss Cooking and Looking for Recipes: Does anyone have any Kielbasa Recipes?

I usually make it in the crock pot with brown sugar, ketchup, horseradish. It's yummy. I'm looking for something a little different. I may try a sauerkraut variation. I thought I would check here first.

I saw one recipe that was just to add some peach preserves and let it cook in the crock pot. Sounds interesting. Anyone heard of that before?

Eve, I just saw this post regarding Kielbasa. You can try this in the crockpot, it works for cocktail smokies also.
In CP, mix together 2 cups of grape jelly with 2 cups of ketchup.
Add two rings of kielbasa sliced on the diagonal.
Cook on low from 4-6 hours.
Enjoy!

Easy Potato Sausage Soup
This is what I make on grocery shopping nights since it is easy to prepare
and is very tasty. I generally double the recipe since my family loves it
so much. Don't forget the garlic bread! Makes 6 servings.
2 onions, chopped
1/2 cup margarine
4 cups diced potatoes
1 (10 ounce) package frozen diced carrots
1 pound Polish sausage, sliced
1 green bell pepper, chopped
3 cups water
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
3 cups milk
3/4 cup dry potato flakes

Directions
1 Using a large saucepan, brown onion in butter.
2 Add potatoes, carrots, green peppers, sausage, water, salt and pepper.
Cook on low, for about 45 minutes or until the potatoes are creamy.
3 Add milk and cook until heated through and then add instant potato
flakes. If you want a creamy potato soup add a 1/2 cup potato flakes, or if
you want your soup thick like stew add 1 cup of potato flakes.
4 Let soup sit for approximately 5 minutes in order to thicken and then serve.

I know it's not traditional but I make Kielbasa Stir Fry. I simply slice onions, mushrooms, broccoli, cabbage, and bean sprouts. I start my rice cooking and saute' sliced kielbasa with 1 tbs. oil. I add the vegetables, and stir fry them, finishing with a dollop of teriyaki sauce. I serve it over the rice for a fast and delicious meal.

Kielbasa with sauerkraut, mushrooms and potatoes.

This is a pressure cooker recipe but u can easily make it in a regular pan. U may have to increase the liquid just a bit though. I leave out the pork or replace it with cubed chicken. We also use turkey kielbasa.
