First Casualties already :(

Moms View Message Board: The Fox Hole (War-Related Discussion): The Momsview Tribune (Share/View the Latest Updates on the War): First Casualties already :(
By Insaneusmcwife on Saturday, September 4, 2004 - 06:26 pm:

They have been there only 1 week and already 3 casualties. I got the call today from our key Coordinator. As far as I know Dh is alright. The 3 Marines were from a different company and I don't know if all the comanies were togeather or if it was just that company out on a mission. I know one of the wives, she was one of our top Key Volunteers. He not only left behind his wife but 2 small childeren. My heart truely aches for these families. Please pray for them.

I'll be praying. I'm so sorry that all of you are going through this time. Hugs to you and all of your dh's company's families.

I'll be praying too, Kristie.

I am so sorry to hear that. I will continue to pray for all of our military families.

Oh, Kristie. Prayers for their families. Prayers for your dh's (and the rest of the troops) safety, too. {{{{{Kristie}}}}}

There is an electric candle in my bedroom window that is there to remind me to pray for our military in harm's way every night. God bless and keep them safe. God keep their families strong.

Just an update...there were 4 causalties and several injuries. one of the causalties was from a different unit. The reports say it was due to enemy action. I don't have any other information on the incident.
Also, My dh and his company have made it to their destination and are doing well :). I have not heard from him as the phones and email are still down but word has been passed througt he KVN.

:( I just talked to DHs friend who said 3 of the casualties were from Caat Blue (My DHs old platoon) and DH was friends with 2 of the guys. All the guys here are pretty upset and I just talked to one of Dhs friends who was almost in tears on the phone.

Keep them all in your prayers please!

:( Hows your dh holding up?

By Boxzgrl on Monday, September 6, 2004 - 05:49 pm:

He's got me in tears right now. I know I met one of the guys so thats sad enough but DH is at work trying to get ahold of other people and I can tell in his voice hes very upset. I almost feel sick to my stomach. It scary enough knowing the casualties come from the battalion and even scarier coming from the company but when you narrow down to the platoon that he was with, it sends a cold chill throughout me. I'm scared for the rest of the guys and at the same time I feel selfish saying that i'm glad DH is not there. Its hard... but the hardest part is yet to come. Hes not even home from work. It probably hasn't even sunk in with him. I'll let you know how it goes and please keep giving me updates, either here or through email.

1/7 is in my thoughts.

By Amy~moderator on Tuesday, September 7, 2004 - 10:58 am:

(((Kristie and Melissa))) I know what you guys are going through. Mike lost a good friend last year in Iraq. I will definitely be praying for the soldiers and their families.

I still haven't heard from him as of yet. I am guessing they are very busy. I know the phone lines and the internet were up and running yesterday, my friend got an email from her dh. So I know my dh is alright. Unfortunately for me, my dh is the type that will make sure all his Marines have had and opportunity to contact their loved ones fist. Which, any other day I wouldn't mind, but today is my special day so I really hope to hear from him.
Melissa, how is Steve????
