Moms View Message Board: The Fox Hole (War-Related Discussion): The Momsview Tribune (Share/View the Latest Updates on the War): Here we go again :(
By Insaneusmcwife on Tuesday, June 22, 2004 - 04:58 pm:

The guys are preparing to leave for Iraq, again :( They are having gear inspections, and range time next week and then leave starts after that. It seems like they just got back and now they are leaving again. I hope I have the strength to make it though this deployment :(

My thoughts & prayers are with your family. I can not imagine how you feel.
Thank you to you & your family.

Thank You ladies, It really helps to have your support. It has just been a whirl wind here lately trying to get things taken care of before he leaves. We still have about 6 weeks before they leave but that time is going to fly I am sure.

Kristie, when did your dh come back from his first deployment? (((Hugs))) You must be miserable.

Thoughts, prayers and hugs go out to you, DH and family. I heard on TV last night where they are even calling up IRR's now. (Individual ready reserves). They are people who's military obligation ended, and they returned to civilian life and civilian jobs. However, depending on your branch of service, you do still have in inactive reserve status for 4 to 6 years.

My DH was an Army recruiter during his last enlistment in his thirty year career. He had always said that the IRR's would never be called up, except in the case of world war.

Stay strong and make the best of the time that you have together before he goes back. ((HUGS)).

Amy, He got back from Iraq in October and has been away at schools and constant training every since. I really feel bad for the kids that he is leaving again. He has been going into work at 330 every morning for the last 2 weeks and not getting home until around 8 at night. Poor guy passes out right after he gets home. This will continue until he goes on leave the 25th. He said when he gets back this time he is putting in for Embassy duty or back to Okinawa so he can spend time with us. Its sad that we have to leave the country to be a family.

Holly, I think in the USMC they are IRR for 4 years. Its a really scary world we live in right now. I am terrified for our military men and women that we are sending over there.

We are planning to take the kids to Knotts Soak City on the 15th and would like to try to go back to Disneyland before he leaves but we will see...we are running out of time and funds.

I keep trying to convince myself that this time will be better and time will pass a lot faster with all the birthdays and holidays that will pass while he is gone, my Tastefully Simple business, and Key Volunteer duties. I actually have a support system this time and of course Momsview, without Momsview I might not have made it though the last deployment. Thank You!!!!
