Update on my DH and Amy's....

Moms View Message Board: The Fox Hole (War-Related Discussion): The Momsview Tribune (Share/View the Latest Updates on the War): Update on my DH and Amy's....
By Palmbchprincess on Friday, June 13, 2003 - 04:11 pm:

My DH called yesterday, and we spoke for a few minutes. I was in a crabby mood because he woke me up from my nap. (I had been up for more than 24 hours) I felt so bad for being a you-know-what. LOL Anyway, he is doing fine. The area he is in has been on the news a lot, but he says it has been really quiet. I'm not sure if there is more going on than he is telling me, and he just doesn't want me to worry or what. Mike is with him, and is also doing fine. Our unit has had no casualties, the only one who got sent home was because of appendicitis (SP??). He had an emergency appendectomy in Baghdad and then returned to the States from Germany. So I am very grateful for our troops' safety thus far. Please continue to pray and keep all the men and women in your thoughts. We are still losing loves, and things seem to be heating up again. This may get worse before it gets better. If you have loved ones over there, please write as much as possible. The Sgt who got sent home said the only thing that cheers these guys up and keeps them going are letters. When they don't receive any on a given day it crushes them. If anyone is interested in writing to troops, I can check with the commander's wife to see if we can get some names and addresses out to you. Just email me and let me know. Thank you all...

Crystal

I would love to write to a few of the service men/women...I had tried during the war, but the sites were not taking anymore names at that time.

Thanks...Mary

Mary...
I'm sorry I took so long to respond. Our FRG leader just had surgery, so I haven't been able to come up with anything. Amy and I talked about it, and if you would like to write to her DH, Mike, email one of us for the address. My DH has much more extended family and is apparently receiving more mail from what Mike told Amy. If you would like to send stuff over to them to share, just drop a note in the package. I'll talk to the FRG leader when she is recovered, and try to find out who isn't getting mail. :)
