Only the Best

For my step-son Josh who passed away on Dec.13,2003

Only the Best

A heart of gold stopped beating,
two shining eyes at rest,
God broke our hearts to prove,
He only takes the best.

God knows you had to leave us,
but you did not go alone,
for part of us went with you,
the day He took you home.

To some you are forgotten,
to others just part of the past,
but to us who loved and lost you,
the memory will always last.

Kernate I know how you feel my son is deceased almost 7 years and it is a hard thing to go through. When I read your poem it made tears to my eyes. They will never be forgotten. I don't know if you go to counseling or not but I never did I try to deal with it the best way I can and being on the computer helps ease the pain because I know there is alot of people I meet up with in the same place, and its good to be open with others it is really helping me.

Do the best you can and all prayers are with you.

Donna,
Thanks for the kind words. I am not going to counseling but I think my DH might have to. He said he thought it might help. But so far he has not said a definite about it. Just take one day at a time. The computer does help alot, knowing that you are not the only person who has gone through it.
If we can get through the next couple months. Josh would have graduated highschool this June, and my son is graduating also so this will be a hard time for all of us.
Thanks again for the prayers.

Donna- My son also went to Heaven in 1997, at age 20. My heart goes out to you, and to Kathy, as well. It is the darkest, blackest kind of grief that a person ever has to endure.

Counseling with my pastor, and a grief counselor helped me a LOT. However, it didn't help my DH because he is STILL in denial. He refuses to accept it, on some level.

(((HUGS))) to you.
